Inside The Extras Dept.

In 2015 we felt like the luckiest ducks for getting to work on the American film The Lost City of Z. 

It was an exciting production and the scenes we needed to cast extras for varied so greatly we were always kept on our toes. From our distinguished looking Royal Geographical Society, to our WWI soldiers, to our Bolivian train passengers, all of our extras were wonderfully dedicated to the project.

We are always saying here at The Extras Dept. HQ – the best thing you can do to increase your chances of being selected as an Extra is to take a great photo.

Every few months we hold photo shoots. This is a great chance to get the perfect photo and have a chat with someone from our team. However, in the mean time you can achieve a great photo at home. All you need is a camera and a buddy!

This year Extras NI celebrates 10 years working in the industry here in Northern Ireland and to commemorate this occasion we want to do something with you, our extras. On 7th March 2017 we will be holding a Blood Drive in Crumlin Road Gaol for the members of Extras NI, in conjunction with Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service. 

2016 got a lot of flak for being a terrible year – some have even dubbed it the worst year in the history of the universe. Sure, some bad things happened but we here at The Extras Dept HQ always look on the bright side of life. Our stats for the infamous 2016 are in and we couldn’t be prouder. We had a great year!
